Westley and Buttercup. When I think of famous lovers I think of them along with Romeo and Juliet and many others. Buttercup lives on a farm with her parents where Westley whom she calls "Farm Boy" is their farmer/servant. Buttercup has never been nice to Westley yet they love each other. Buttercup tries to bathe as little as possible yet she is one of the twenty most beautiful women in the world at the time. Westley isn't bad looking either. All the girls in the village follow him and all the boys fall at Buttercups feet. One day the terrible Prince Humperdinck's most trusted person, Count Rugen and his Countess visit Buttercup's farm for an odd reason. When the Countess takes a fancy to Westley, Buttercup realizes she is madly in love with Westley and he with her. After they pronounce their love for each other, Westley sets sail to America to work and build a farm there for Buttercup and himself but sadly Buttercup believes his ship was captured by the Dread Pirate who never leaves a survivor and is heart broken. While she believes Westley is dead, Prince Humperdinck tries to marry Buttercup but she always refuses but finally has to accept. A day before her wedding Buttercup is kidnapped and held for ransom by the mastermind Vizzini and his assistants Fezzik and Inigo Montoya. Buttercup thinks she's a goner but an unidentified masked man defeats the three villains, killing Vizzini and knocking Fezzik and Inigo out who will show up later in the story.
That's all I have read in the Princess Bride originally written by S. Morgenstern. The one I am reading is by William Goldman. I love this book so far. It is awesome. I saw the movie but the books are usually better. The movie was full of excitement and plot twists so the book must be also. I usually don't like books or movies like this one but I LOVED it. My favorite line in the book is said by Inigo Montoya and it is" Hello, My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." I like his accent, too. If you want to find out what else happens in all the excitement of the Princess Bride you will have to read it by William Goldman to find out.

Pictures of Hollis Woods
Holliswoods is an orphan and a very talented artist. She's lived with countless families but always ends up running away and taken back to that dreaded orphanage. That is until she lives with Izzy, Old Man, and Steven. They are the family she was always fantasizing about ever since she was little then why did she leave them too even though she didn't want to? After she left them she was sent to live with Josie who is an old lady who is very forgetful. While living with Josie and her pet cat, Henry, Hollis realizes why she left and longs to go back even though she likes Josie very much. But alas, Holliswoods can not go to her true home. Josie is old and forgets things even like making sure Hollis goes to school. Hollis promised Josie's sister, Beatrice, that she would look out for Josie when Beatrice was away in Albuquerque therefore she's tied down. Will Holliswoods go home to her beloved Izzy, Old Man, and Steven? Or will the awful mustard woman who is in charge of where Holliswoods go forbid her? You'll have to read Pictures of Hollis Woods by Patricia Reilly Giff to see what happens.
Throwing Like A Girl
15 year old Ella Kessler just moved from Chicago to Texas during the middle of the school year. Ella has never played a school sport so she is super surprised when Coach Dixon asks Ella to try out for Coach Lauer's softball team. Ella's new friend Rocky is teaching her a few things. Rocky used to play softball and was the best but had to quit due to family matters. Ella loves softball and her team. Well, almost everyone on her team except for Sally Fouintineau who of course has to be Nate's little sister. All I can say is just that Ella's life is very interesting. A lot of girls don't like her because she gets the dreamy quarterback/acting star as her "fiance" in the Marriage Project. Technically Sally is Ella's sister in law so that makes her life so much easier considering Sally wants to make her miserable. Not much can stop Ella from getting Rocky back on the team and starting in softball. Not even Sally can though she tries. From prom to championships this book is really great. Throwing Like A Girl by Weezie Kerr Mackey is very well written and really good. I hope you will give it a shot and love it as much as I do.

Shakespeare's Secret
Shakespeare's Secret by Elise Broach is about a girl named Hero Netherfield. Judging by her name and the title of this book you could guess that it is about Shakespeare but don't worry it is NOT BORING. Instead it is the opposite. Hero Netherfield is the new girl at school and just moved into the Murphy's house where there is a supposed diamond dating back to Anne Boleyn. How does Anne Boleyn, wife of Henry VIII, have anything to do with Shakespeare? Hero, her next door neighbor Miriam Roth, and the very cute and popular Danny Cordova try to unravel the mystery of the diamond. Can they do it? This book is very exciting, dramatic, and extremely surprising. Elise Broach has also written Masterpiece which I have read and enjoyed. I know I rarely like mysteries but I loved this book and I hope you will consider it.

Flipped
Flipped by Wendlelyn Van Draynen is about a girl named Julie and a boy named Bryce. They are next door neighbors and their relationship is complicated. Julie has liked Bryce ever since they were seven and he first moved in. How could she not fall for his beautiful blue eyes? Bryce on the other hand fells different. How could you like a girl who secretly sniffs your hair during class? Now they are older and start to feel differently. Things become complicated when Bryce's grandfather who just moves in befriends Julie and has her and her family over for dinner.
This book has made me burst out laughing so suddenly that my sister screamed. The movie is also great. My cousins gave me this book for my birthday because they thought I would like it and I do. Of course there are surprises in the book that I haven't mentioned not to ruin it for you. I LOVE this book and have read it many times. Hopefully you will read it and like it too.

"Gone" by Michael Grant
"Gone"by Michael Grant is a really good book. Sam Temple and his friends Quinn and Astrid are the main characters. One minute his teacher is giving a lecture and the next he's gone along with all the other adults leaving teens under the age of fifteen and toddlers to care for themselves. The other weird thing is that the kids are starting to change and get supernatural powers. There is a good side and bad side of kids. Of course Sam is on the good side. When Sam was young he was a very heroic leader so now everyone is looking up to him but someone else wants to be the leader. Will this cause problems? I think others will like this book. It is action adventure and really exciting. It is a page turner. Michael Grant has a way of writing which keeps you hooked on the story.
My friend introduced me to this book. He thought I would like it and I do. I am really glad he told me about it. "Gone" is the first book of three. The other two are "Lies, and Hunger." They are the sequels to "Gone." I mainly like action, adventure, fiction, historical fiction, romance, and fantasy. This is the first book I read by this author and I really like him. Sometimes its a little slow for my taste then it spices up. I hope you will read this book and like it as much as I do.
