Shakespeare's Secret
Shakespeare's Secret by Elise Broach is about a girl named Hero Netherfield. Judging by her name and the title of this book you could guess that it is about Shakespeare but don't worry it is NOT BORING. Instead it is the opposite. Hero Netherfield is the new girl at school and just moved into the Murphy's house where there is a supposed diamond dating back to Anne Boleyn. How does Anne Boleyn, wife of Henry VIII, have anything to do with Shakespeare? Hero, her next door neighbor Miriam Roth, and the very cute and popular Danny Cordova try to unravel the mystery of the diamond. Can they do it? This book is very exciting, dramatic, and extremely surprising. Elise Broach has also written Masterpiece which I have read and enjoyed. I know I rarely like mysteries but I loved this book and I hope you will consider it.

ReplyDeleteLove your blog background (by the way)!
ReplyDeleteOkay - Shakespeare is NOT boring - but I understand what you mean.
I know that Anne Boleyn was the mother of Queen Elizabeth who was one of the monarchs on the throne of England during Shakespeare's years of writing and performing plays. Is that part of the connection to the diamond?
I do love mysteries - and I love Shakespeare. Sounds like a win/win to me!
